How to Combine PDF Files

A step-by-step guide to merging your PDF files in seconds. CombinePDF is not limited to a number of files — combine as many PDFs as you need.

1

Select Your PDF Files

Drag and drop your PDF files onto the upload area on the homepage, or click anywhere in the drop zone to open your file browser. You can select multiple files at once.

As files are added, CombinePDF will display each one in a list showing the filename. The tool automatically validates each file to make sure it's a valid PDF — if a file fails, you'll see a clear error message so you can check and retry.

2

Arrange the Order

The order of your files determines the page order in the final combined PDF. Each file in the list is numbered so you can see exactly where it falls in the output.

To reorder, grab the drag handle (the two-line icon on the left of each file) and drag it up or down to the position you want. You can also use the keyboard — focus a drag handle and use arrow keys to move it.

If you added a file by mistake, click the × button on that file to remove it. Or hit Clear all to start fresh.

3

Combine & Download

Once you have at least 2 files added and ordered, the Combine button becomes active. Click it to merge all your PDFs.

CombinePDF processes everything locally in your browser — no files are uploaded to any server. The merged PDF is generated instantly and downloads automatically to your device as combined.pdf.

That's it. Rename the downloaded file as you like and you're done. You can repeat the process as many times as you need — it's completely free.

Tips

  • There is no limit on the number of files you can combine.
  • Large PDF files are handled with ease — no size restrictions.
  • If a file fails to load, double-check that it's a valid PDF and try adding it again.
  • Your files never leave your browser, so your documents stay private.
